Time

I love being home with Jacob. I feel like my time is my own again. Teaching school took almost all my time and gave it to my students. Now that I can choose who to give my time to, I find myself wanting to give it all to the Lord, hoping that he will guide me to who needs it the most.
I was so inspired by this quote given by one of the missionaries in church yesterday:
“A morning prayer and an early search in the scriptures to know what we should do for the Lord can set the course of a day. We can know which task, of all those we might choose, matters most to God and therefore to us. I have learned such a prayer is always answered if we ask and ponder with childlike submission, ready to act without delay to perform even the most humble service.”
Henry B. Eyring, “This Day,” April 2007
“When we put God first, all other things fall into their proper place or drop out of our lives. Our love of the Lord will govern the claims for our affection, the demands on our time, the interests we pursue, and the order of our priorities.”
Ezra Taft Benson, “The Great Commandment—Love the Lord,” April 1988

Parenting: Touching the Hearts of Our Youth

I love my little Jacob so much, sometimes it hurts. I want to cry when he cries! I want to comfort him when he's grumpy. I can't wait for every little milestone. Parenting is such a joy. I only hope I can "be there" every time he needs me.
